Stephen Chow has released the first official trailer for his film The New King of Comedy.
A new comedy film is coming from the director of films like Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. This is the latest thematic sequel to Chow’s 1999 film King of Comedy. As we know the first one was co-directed by Lee Lik-chi. Here is the full synopsis about the film in 1999: “A bar girl hires a struggling actor to give her acting lessons so that she can feign a greater interest in her customers. The longer they work together, the more they find they have in common.” Now the story continues with new characters. David Torok and Baoqiang Wang star for the lead role.
The New King of Comedy hits the theatres on Chinese New Year so it’s on February 5. Check out first teaser below.
