HBO announces a Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon coming to streaming platform HBO Max.
After the final season of GoT, HBO wants to make another series from this book. This is based on Thrones author George R.R. Martin’s companion book Fire & Blood. The spinoff series has orders and announce at WarnerMedia’s HBO Max’ presentation today. They also share the details on the Facebook page of GoT about the upcoming prequel. According to the latest information: “The series is co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series. ”
The prequel would have taken place thousands of years before the events of Thrones and HBO description: “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers. Also, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend.
HBO’s executive Casey Bloys made the announcement at an event for HBO Max, AT&T’s streaming service coming May 2020. We just heard the latest news after the HBO canceled a previously announced Game of Thrones spinoff series ‘The Long Night.’
House of the Dragon will premiere in HBO Max in late 2020.
