Netflix tests a sleep timer on Android! How to set a timer in iOS?

Netflix has started to test a sleep timer feature on Android devices. The first question that pops up in our mind is when will it come to iOS devices? Are there any similar timers for iOS?

Today Netflix has launched a global test of sleep timer on Android devices for users to use while in streaming sessions. This timer enables devices to shut off after some time of the users’ choices.

The time periods available on this timer goes by 15, 30, 45 minutes, or until the end of an episode or a movie that the user is watching. When the time the user has set up is done, then the Netflix app will close automatically.

The test currently is limited globally to Android devices but is said to be available on other devices such as TV sets, desktops. This depends on the popularity and the satisfaction of the user throughout the sleep timers tester. Currently, only users of an Android device and an Adult Netflix profile can use it.

To use the feature on Android devices, follow the below directions:
  1. Firstly, you need to select and play your favorite TV show or movie on your mobile devices
  2. In the upper right corner, subscribers will see a clock icon that is labeled Timer.
  3. Then click to tap on Timer
  4. After that, set15, 30, 45 minutes, or “Finish Show.”

If you have an Apple device and are watching Netflix from your phone app you are at the right place! You can set the iOS Timer by clicking on the ‘Clock’ application and pressing ‘Timer’ on the right bottom. After you open the app, set the time to when you want it to alarm you.

After that’s done, tap the ‘When Timer Ends’ button just below the timer’s length settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the list that pops up and you’ll see an entry called ‘Stop Playing.’ and that’s what you’re looking for. Tap that, then tap the ‘Set’ button in the top right corner of the window. Once it hits zero, any media app you’re using at the moment will stop playing.
