Randy Blythe for Lamb of God new album: “Whole record is political”

Randy Blythe talks about the Lamb of God band’s upcoming and self-titled album. He just spoke to Kerrang! magazine about ‘Checkmate’, the first song and new album.

Over the Monday, Lamb of God and Megadeth announce their upcoming 2020 North American tour. Also, this tour kicked off in Bristow, Virginia, on June 12 and ended up in Reno, Nevada, on November 13. However, in this tour In Flames and Trivium bands joins them. Now, we have a fresh interview with United Kingdom magazine Kerrang!, also Blythe talks about the band’s forthcoming self-titled album is handled political issues.

Randy Blythe talks after the first single, ‘Checkmate’:

“There’s not a single song [on the album] about an individual. When we had [George W. Bush] during the ‘Ashes of the Wake’ era, he was a whole lot easier to write specifics about because we had the war in Iraq, the mythical weapons of mass destruction, but right now, the political world everywhere looks like Peewee Herman’s playhouse.”

Then Blythe continues:

“They are two sides of the same coin. Civility and discourse is at an all time low, and that’s because people view political parties now not for their policies, but they support these different parties like sports teams. The lyrics reflect that. The system is a fucking fraud.”

Randy Blythe band’s Lamb Of God will be released a self-titled album on May 8th, 2020. Listen to the first single below.
