Celebs who drive Toyotas and Hondas

The world of Hollywood is usually associated with fast and opulent cars, with most celebrities driving around in some of the most expensive cars available in the market. Some celebs even go out of their way to buy complete custom cars like the Rolls-Royce Wraith modified by WCC, recently picked up by Justin Beiber, while others prefer rolling around in old-school cars like Kevin Hart recently added a mint resto-modded 1959 Corvette to his collection.

A lot of celebs, however, prefer driving around in regular cars, especially from brands like Toyota and Honda for their reliability and easy ownership experience. Ever since the oil crisis back in the 1970s, Japanese cars started gaining popularity thanks to their reliable and efficient engines compared to the big Americans of the time. Honda and Toyota continue to lead the charge even today with thoroughly modern models, catering to a wide range of customers.

Recent models like the new 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser are equally at home on an off-road trail as it is hauling the family around on a weekday. There is plenty of luxury too, with a plush and spacious interior that can seat up to 8 passengers, and a smooth yet powerful V8 engine that doesn’t break a sweat no matter wherever the journey takes you.

Compact cars like the 2021 Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla are also very popular because of their practical and easy-to-use nature. Some performance-oriented models like the Civic Si and Civic Type-R are also fun-to-drive without breaking the bank. Honda updated the new Civic with plenty of modern features, including several driver assistance features as standard.

The Toyota Prius has also been a very popular car among celebrities ever since its launch in 1997 as one of the first hybrids in the market. Thanks to its environment-friendly nature, several celebrities including Ryan Gosling, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Hanks have owned a Prius. In fact, Tom Hanks auctioned off his first Prius back in 2010 with the proceedings going to returning war veterans.

Christian Bale is known for his stellar performance in several movies like the Dark Knight trilogy, American Hustle, and more recently, Ford v Ferrari, where he takes the role of legendary racer Ken Miles who is responsible for perfecting the Ford GT.

Bale also owns a V8-powered 1999 Mercedes C43 AMG, but he prefers driving around in a humble Toyota Tacoma which also helps him avoid attention. The Tacoma is finished in black just like the bat-mobile and is the TRD model, which adds extra performance.

Ryan Gosling – Toyota Prius

Ryan Gosling is known for his performance in The Notebook, La La Land, Blade Runner 2049, and Drive, in which he portrays a stunt driver.  Ryan helped build the 1973 Chevelle Malibu featured in the film and still owns it. The Malibu was a very popular muscle car back in the 1970s, with plenty of examples still available for a reasonable price. Even with a successful lifestyle, Ryan still prefers to drive around in his black Toyota Prius. Which coincidentally, is one of the most popular regular cars among celebrities.

Mark Zuckerberg – Honda Fit

Even after becoming a billionaire after his success with the social media website Facebook, Mark owns a fleet of humble vehicles which include a Volkswagen Golf, Acura TSX, and a small Honda Fit. The Honda Fit is one of the cheapest and most practical small cars on the market which starts at just $16,000.

Hale Berry – Honda CR-V

With a net worth of more than $70 million, and known for blockbusters like Die Another Day, Kingsman, and John Wick Chapter 3, Hele Berry is one of the most successful actors in the industry. She is often seen driving around in a white Lexus RX SUV. Surprisingly, she has also been spotted several times driving around in a 2014 Honda CR-V, which is still one of the best crossovers in the market.

Tom Hanks – Toyota Scion XB

Tom Hanks is one of the most popular actors in the industry, with several blockbusters under his belt like Cast Away, Captain Phillips, Forrest Gump, and plenty more. He is a huge car enthusiast and owns several exotic cars including a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, Bentley Azure T, Porsche Panamera, and more.
