Drake just updated fans on the status of his new album, ‘Certified Lover Boy‘, and it’s coming out this year in 2021.
Drake’s revealed that his new album is “in the pot”, and it’s being “chef’d” in every way possible. Famous rapper has been cooking up some tunes, he said, alongside Noel Cadastre and Noah ’40’ Shebib. Speaking on OVO Sound Radio, Drake explained he was yet to have a release date, but CLB was “in the pot and coming soon”.
Certified Lover Boy was earlier delayed for later, as Drake had knee surgery and he had to focus on recovering from it. The recording was to drop back in January, but it had to be pushed back for the artist to have time for healing. “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery.”, he also wrote the famous Canadian rapper on his Instagram story.
“I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”
Drake’s expectations with respect to Certified Lover Boy
With the announcement he made on OVO Sound Radio, fans now have a new update on the new LP. We expect Certified Lover Boy to be dropped soon, although there’s not an exact release date announced. Let’s cross our fingers and hope Drake will finish all the “cheffing” soon enough.
Drake previously stated that he expected some backlash against his new album, just like people hated on 2016’s Views. He expects some people to “hate on” the new album, as reported by Music-News. That was in response to a fan who said “Views’ “be hittin’ different” when listened four years after the release. “They hated on ‘Views’ just like they will CLB but it’s music to evolve to.”, Drake said.
