Little Lazy Releases New Single Titled ‘The Showman’

Ever heard of a band called “Little Lazy?” I haven’t either, until I was recently introduced to them, and I have to say I’m impressed. The band has recently released their latest single called “The Showman” on May 12, 2021, so it’s time for us to take a look at just exactly who Little Lazy is, and what they sound like!

Who is Little Lazy?

According to their about page, “Little Lazy is truly a sight for sore eyes. With Brendan Pafford on vocals and guitar and Kevin Cook on drums, the Orlando rock duo has been carefully crafting their distinct and eccentric style with artists such as The Black Keys, Nirvana, and the Arctic Monkeys in mind. Forming in early 2019, Little Lazy has since released their debut single, “Daytime Shakes”, and many more including their most recent 2021 single, “Menace”. When seen live, their tunes and energy will have you clapping your hands and stomping your feet from start to finish. If you like what you hear, make sure to give them a ‘Follow’ on Facebook and Instagram to be in the loop for upcoming shows and new music. And as always, don’t ever forget to Stay L@ZY.” The band is very new, as they currently have a total of five songs released on Apple Music and Spotify, including their latest single “The Showman,” as well as “Daytime Shakes,” “Menace,” “Charlie Champagne,” and my personal favorite, “Dopamine.” Their style definitely reflects that of The Black Keys and the Arctic Monkeys, while also giving their own sort of  style to their sound (watch the video for Dopamine here, and you’ll see what I mean…hopefully.)

The Showman

The Showman is Little Lazy’s latest single that released on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. After taking a listen, I have come to the conclusion that I am excited to see what else this band has to offer in the near future. The Showman shows off more of that Arctic Monkeys/Black Keys inspiration, but again puts a Little Lazy spin on it. The main thing that I noticed from The Showman is how much it highlights the guitar. The guitar in this song is very prominent and sounds really cool; it reminds me of a certain song, but I just can’t think of the name of it (so if anyone thinks of what that could be, please feel free to tweet me!)

Next to Dopamine, I would definitely say that The Showman is my second favorite Little Lazy song that has been released so far. Of course, I suppose it’s not terribly difficult to rank high on the list, considering every single one of their songs falls into my top five Little Lazy songs of all time. I’m definitely excited to see what’s next for Little Lazy, and I hope that they expand a bit on the variety of their sound, but what they’ve got so far sounds pretty solid. I’m also definitely a big fan of the way that they do their music videos, it adds a sense of reality and gives a glimpse at their life behind the scenes, which mostly consists of hanging out at bars and playing darts.

  1. Little Lazy kills it. I’m impressed and I’m sure there is much more coming. Obviously they spent their time during the pandemic continuing to work and nail their unique and addictive sound. They will go far.
