Is Sonic The Hedgehog coming to Netflix?

Sonic The Hedgehog is a live-action film of the Sonic classic video games franchise. The live-action also breaks the box office record set for video game films.

Jim Carrey’s latest film reaches $70 million during its first four days in theaters, one of the best results for the holiday weekend. Jeff Fowler’s first directorial debut for the film and it features stars such as Jim Carrey (Doctor Robotnik), Ben Schwartz (Voice of Sonic), Natasha Rothwell, Tika Sumpter, and Neal McDonough. The movie is released in cinemas in February 2020. Also, distributed by Paramount Pictures.

There’s no release date yet. But we guess at least coming to Netflix in 2022.

Here’s the official description of this film:

“Based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.”

Will Sonic The Hedgehog is coming to other regions on Netflix?

Despite Netflix in the US gets Paramount movies, it doesn’t get new movies. But also, Paramount output deals with the Epix streaming service. According to that, you can watch Sonic at the end of 2020 on Epix.

But if you live in Canada, this film will appear on Netflix at the end of 2020. Yet, if you live in the UK and Australia, you can get the Sonic film 2-3 years later. Check out the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer below.
