Splinter Cell anime series coming to Netflix from John Wick co-creator Derek Kolstad. Netflix and Ubisoft just working together for an anime adaptation of the video game.
This is an award-winning stealth genre video games, the first version of which was released in 2002. Then they totally release 7 video games from this story. Now, Netflix announced the anime adaptation already has a two-season order with 6 episode order at the streaming service. Also, will be written and executive produced by John Wick‘s co-creator Derek Kolstad.
What’s the synopsis of the Splinter Cell series?
Here’s the official description:
“Sam Fisher is an elite Black-Ops agent called the Splinter Cell. When two government operatives undercover in Georgia go missing, Sam is sent in by the Third Echelon to investigate.
He also discovers that the Georgian president is conspiring with mercenaries and computer experts for some kind of master plan, and despite Sam interrogating various involved members, he has a hard time getting further information, until its too late. What follows is a maelstrom of conspiracies, political backstabs, and complete pandemonium.”
When is the Splinter Cell anime series?
There’s no official release date yet. But according to the Variety, Splinter Cell will release on sometime 2021.
However, this isn’t the first animated series that Ubisoft is developing for streaming services. Ubisoft also produces the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest from Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz. Fans also like the adaptation. Ubisoft has also adapted the popular game Assassin’s Creed into a feature film starring cast Michael Fassbender.
In addition to this series film adaptation has been in the works for years now. Also, the famous actor Tom Hardy has been announced to star as Fisher when we back to 2012. But this project not active.
