What Horror Movies We Want To See On Ice Nine Kills’ ‘The Silver Scream 2’
Ice Nine Kills has recently announced that they will be releasing a sequel to their most popular album “The Silver Scream.” This sequel album titled “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood” will be released on October 15, 2021 and is set to feature a brand new lineup of horror films for fans to grace their ears with, but which movies do we want to see appear on the album?
The Conjuring
The Conjuring has been one of my favorite horror franchises ever since the original movie came out in 2013. The films follow real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, respectively), as they help families with their demonic issues. I would absolutely love to hear a song about Ed and Lorraine – maybe even Annabelle – make an appearance on The Silver Scream 2.
Insidious
I watched Insidious right after seeing Insidious: Chapter 2, but I made the mistake of watching it at 11 o’clock at night, by myself, with the lights off, which is really how you should watch any horror movie, but for 15-year-old me, that was a horrible idea. Ever since then, the movie has stuck with me, and specifically the terrifying Tiny Tim rendition of Tiptoe Through the Tulips. I think Ice Nine Kills could absolutely throw that song in there somewhere and make it even creepier, though I’m not sure if I actually want to hear something like that or not.
Sinister
Ethan Hawke was awesome in Sinister, and although it’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie (and I still have to see the sequel), it’s definitely a fantastic horror movie, and one that I would love to see make an appearance on The Silver Scream 2. The villain, Bughuul, who is also known as Bagul, or Mr. Boogie, is one of the most terrifying horror movie villains that I’ve ever seen, and it still gives me nightmares. Okay, maybe it doesn’t actually still give me nightmares, but it definitely did when I watched it as a kid!
Midsommar
Midsommar isn’t necessarily a horror movie that I would expect Ice Nine Kills to put on their album, but it would definitely be an awesome out-of-pocket twist and I would love to see what they end up doing with it. This is one of the creepies movies that I have ever seen in my entire life, and I think if INK is looking to shake things up, then putting Midsommar on The Silver Scream 2 would certainly do just that.
Zombieland
Just like Midsommar, Zombieland is a movie that wouldn’t necessarily fit into the rest of The Silver Scream, because it’s more of a comedy, but I think that it would be absolutely hilarious if Ice Nine Kills did a song about Zombieland. Maybe like “Rules of the Apocalypse” or something like that?
The Amityville Horror
The Amityville Horror is definitely a movie that I am pretty much expecting to see on The Silver Scream 2. It’s a classic horror movie, it’s based on real life events (that were actually proven to be dramatized), and the remake stars Ryan Reynolds. What more can you ask for? Okay, but seriously, I think if Ice Nine Kills was going to make a song based on The Amityville Horror, it should probably be the original 1979 movie, but I wouldn’t be mad if it referenced the remake with Ryan Reynolds.
Hereditary
Hereditary is another A24 film like Midsommar, which I guess just means that A24 is the kind of horrifying and mind-boggling flicks. This is definitely something that I think would make for a really cool song, even though it’s not necessarily a classic horror movie…yet.
The Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal Lecter is one of the most feared horror villains of all time, and The Silence of the Lambs is also considered one of the top 100 horror movies of all time with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is another movie that I am pretty much expecting to see on The Silver Scream 2, without a doubt.
A Quiet Place
While A Quiet Place is also a pretty recent movie, I think that it would be awesome to see make the film make its way onto The Silver Scream 2, because it’s just that good. It would also be interesting to see how they would handle the premise of the movie (not being able to make a sound), but I think it would definitely be cool.
There’s a few other movies that will undoubtedly make an appearance on The Silver Scream 2 like Psycho, Frankenstein, Dracula, and maybe Phantom of the Opera (not sure about that one, but it would be pretty cool), but we’ll see if any of the big ones make an appearance. I guess we’ll just have to wait until October to find out.
