1. He Was Born In Latvia
DJ Lethal had a pretty interesting upbringing. He was born in Latvia when the country was part of the Soviet Union. When he was young, he moved to Italy with his family and they eventually relocated to the United States where they settled on the east coast. Although DJ Lethal grew up speaking Russian, he does not speak Latvian.
2. His Father Was A Musician
DJ Lethal might be the only person in his family who pursued a career in the music industry, but he isn’t the only one with musical talents. His father, Grisha Dimant, played the guitar and was the person who introduced DJ Lethal to music. Lethal also had an uncle who owned a music store.
3. He’s Been Nominated For Grammys
In the music industry, a Grammy Award is one of the highest honors a person can achieve. Oftentimes, when people look back at an artist’s career, whether or not they’ve won any Grammys is one of the first things they’ll discuss. Although DJ Lethal has yet to win one, he has already been nominated four times. It seems like it’s just a matter of time before he goes home with an award.
4. He’s An Entrepreneur
There’s no denying the fact that DJ Lethal has a big creative side, but he’s also business-minded. He has invested in several things over the years and he is a partner at Backstage Bar and Billiards in Las Vegas. The venue offers lots of live music and great cocktails.

Even though DJ Lethal is a part of House of Pain, when most people think of him, rock music is the first thing that comes to mind. In reality, however, he has always been known for working across genres. When DJ Lethal parted ways with Limp Bizkit, it appeared that he and the rest of the guys weren’t on the best of terms. But any issues that may have been brewing among the group are gone now. During an interview with Eclectic Electric several years ago, DJ Lethal said that everything was cool between him and Limp Bizkit.
8. He Started DJing in 7th Grade
When it comes to DJing, DJ Lethal truly is the definition of an OG. DJ Lethal told VIP Sound Lab LLC, ” I would have to say around 7th grade. Maybe 12 years old. By that time I had moved to Los Angeles.” He quickly fell in love with the entire culture surrounding DJing and the rest is history.
9. He Loves To Travel
Not only has DJ Lethal lived in different countries during his lifetime, but he’s also gotten the chance to travel to places all over the world. Thanks to his work as a DJ, he has seen places he probably never imagined. There’s no doubt he’ll be adding even more places to the list in the years to come.
10. He’s Never Been Married
DJ Lethal is the type of person who likes to keep all of the attention on his career, so he’s never shared much information about his personal life.
