Bernardo Bertolucci Oscar-Winning Italian Director Dies at 77

Director Bernardo Bertolucci died today, who has been fighting cancer for a long time.

Bertolucci was born in Panama. His father was Attilio Bertolucci, a famous poet and film critic. His career, the famous director has shot nearly 20 films, both in Europe and in Hollywood. He wrote his name on the cinemas for his work in theater, and in particular, Last Tango in Paris. He made important works with such films as The Conformist,  won 9 Oscars with The Last Emperor on 1987. In 1972, he confessed that the rape scene in Last Tango in Paris (1972) was real. After this confession, he had been repeatedly, and rightfully so, criticized especially after the MeToo movement.

The director, who lost his life at 7 this morning, had been fighting against cancer for a long time.
