2020 was a terrible year, and it took our Black Panther away. Unfortunately, Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer at 43 and left behind a great legacy. Our world no longer has a Chadwick Boseman, so will Wakanda have a new Black Panther?

The Marvel Comics character Black Panther was released as a movie in 2018 and gained quite a reputation. Ryan Coogler directed the film and wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole. However, the major character of the movie, Black Panther, is no longer there. Does this mean Black Panther 2 is canceled? Of course no. Black Panther 2 movie is set to be released in 2022.

But will we see Chadwick Boseman with the CGI technique in the movie, or will we have a new Black Panther?

Is Black Panther 2 coming out?

Marvel Studios had announced that the Black Panther 2 movie would come in the coming years.

Recently, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that this upcoming movie will not feature Chadwick Boseman’s CGI footage after the actor’s death last year.

Feige said with that movie, they will honor and respect Chadwick’s legacy.

Kevin added: “Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally. His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for that reason that we will not recast the character.”

What’s Black Panther 2 story?

T’challa will not recast and Chadwick’s legacy will not be taken over by anyone else. The second movie will be more about exploring Wakanda and telling stories from those lands.

Kevin Feige said: “Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures. This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story.”

Who is the cast of The Black Panther 2?

Kevin Feige said that they will not use CGI in Black Panther 2 and they will not return Boseman again. He said: “We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting T’Challa.”

Wright will take on a more important role and responsibility in the new movie. However, Wright’s statement about the sequel was also quite confusing.

“The thought of doing it without him is kinda strange. We’re just grieving at the moment, so it’s trying to find the light in the midst of it.” – Wright.

Michael B. Jordan’s intense and troubled villain Erik Killmonger could also be in for a return, potentially in flashbacks.

When is the Black Panther 2 release date?

If Boseman hadn’t left us, the sequel would have been released on May 6, 2022. But understandably, there was a delay until 8 July 2022.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming will now start on the sequel in Atlanta in July 2021 for upwards of six months.
