Goro in the new Mortal Kombat movie will be fully animated
The boss character from the Mortal Kombat games, Goro, will be fully CGI in the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie.
In the original 1995 movie of Mortal Kombat, Goro was a puppet. The character was first seen in the original arcade game as a boss. He’s one of the most popular characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise, who now will be entirely animated in the new movie, Collider says.
Goro is going full-CGI in Mortal Kombat 2021
Since the release of the first Mortal Kombat movie in 1995, technology and visual effects have come a long way. Naturally, we now see CGI characters in virtually every sci-fi production, notably in the works of Marvel. So, cinephiles have been used to seeing animated characters for some years, and that news should not come as a surprise, accordingly.
The advancement of visual effects over the years has affected Mortal Kombat positively as well. The brutal fatalities, bloody scenes and fictional characters the movie has to have are portrayed naturally with CGI. You can just watch its trailer to see what I mean.
Facts about the new Mortal Kombat movie
Collider also reports that the cast of the movie is “representative, accurate, and inclusive.”. The director of the new Mortal Kombat movie, Simon Mcquoid, tried to represent the characters as accurately as he can.
He reportedly was so sensitive as to “Ensure the correct dialect that Kung Lao would use, given his character’s background.”. He was extremely sensitive on the set, which carried on to other people working on the movie. And this all felt right for the Mortal Kombat movie crew.
Another fact is that the villains will be complicated characters, unlike the stereotypes. Let’s take on Sub-Zero, who is a villain, for example. He will be portrayed with a “layer of consciousness”, a bad guy actually questioning whether he chose this life or this all was just the irony of fate.
