Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland working on new animated comedy show

Popular show Rick and Morty’s co-creator Justin Roiland is working on a new superhero show called Koala Man for the streaming platform Hulu.

Rick and Morty is a quite popular cartoon show with its smart sense of humor, and almost nobody would hate it. One of its creators, Justin Roiland, is currently working on a new cartoon show for Hulu, also titled Koala Man.

This show will focus on Australian suburban hero Koala Man, willing to stop petty crimes and establish the way for a healthier community, despite not having enough power to do it. The show is created by Michael Cusack, while Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit will work as showrunners. Roiland, on the other hand, will be the executive producer of Hulu’s upcoming superhero show.

What do we know about Justin Roiland and Koala Man cast?

Justin Roiland worked for productions like Solar Opposites and Adventure Times, while also including Community in his CV. And as we mentioned before, he is currently a scriptwriter for Rick and Morty.

Creator of the series Koala Man, Michael Cusack, previously worked on All Night Gaming (2016), Journey for Ted (2018) and Bushworld Adventures (2018). He also teamed up with Justin Roiland while writing and directing Rick and Morty’s Bushworld Adventures episode.

One of the showrunners, Dan Hernandez, worked for productions like Central Park, The Tick, and One Day at a Time. The other showrunner of the upcoming Hulu show, Benji Samit, was working together with Hernandez on Central Park, The Tick, and One Day at a Time. So, we can say those two showrunners pretty well get along, and synchronization probably will not pose a problem.

What’s the synopsis of the ‘Koala Man’ show?

Here’s how IMDb describes the upcoming show:

“Follows a family father who lives a not-so-secret identity as the titular hero who possesses a burning passion to snuff out petty crime.”

The show will be on Hulu with its first season containing eight episodes. The release date is yet to be announced.
