Wacken Open Air festival 2021 first line-up, tickets, poster and dates

Wacken Open Air is known as one of the famous metal festivals that held every year since 1990. Every year starts this week in the fields outside also the same name a German village north of Hamburg. This cute little village which is called Wacken.

The festival was first held in 1990 as a small metal gathering with about 800 visitors and six local bands. After the following years, they grew all the time. Now they’re calling the biggest heavy metal festival in the world. In addition, in 2011 the festival attracted 80,000 festival visitors and 6,000 personnel for a total of 86,000 attendees. However, this number seems to increase moderately. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wacken happens online ‘Wacken World Wide’ with a lot of fresh performances and concerts.

The 2021 edition of the German metal festival Wacken Open Air has sold out. Because the %90 ticketholders changing for next year. Here are the first line-ups: Judas Priest, Hämatom, Dropkick Murphys, As I Lay Dying, Rose Tattoo, Tarja, Lordi, Death SS, Venom, and Moonspell.

Wacken co-founder Holger Hübner: 

“We are truly grateful for our fans’ trust they had given us – without even knowing about our lineup plans! Therefore we hope that they are as happy as we are about the first announcements for 2021. We are still in contact with many bands that were planned for this year, as well as have a few surprises for you, that we will unveil in the upcoming months.”

Thomas Jensen also adds: 

“As there is so much far away from normality this year, we wanted to keep our tradition to announce the very first bands on our line-up for the upcoming festival edition. We can hardly wait to welcome these and many other great artists to Wacken next year. We will use the time until then to prepare a spectacular live experience with our next years‘ new motto ‘horror’.”
