Anya Taylor-Joy Says She is Ugly To Be in Movies
Anya Taylor-Joy has been rising so fast as a star in Hollywood over the past few years. And with her presence in every project she joins, she just keeps attracting us to herself.
So it shocked us when she said she doesn’t find herself beautiful during an appearance in an interview. Anya Taylor-Joy: “I don’t think I’m beautiful enough to be in films”
Anya Taylor-Joy said during an interview earlier that:
“I have never and I don’t think I will ever think of myself as beautiful. I don’t think I’m beautiful enough to be in films. It sounds pathetic and my boyfriend warns me people will think I’m an absolute d*** for saying these things, but I just think I’m weird-looking.”
In this case, we couldn’t disagree more. Despite her young age, she has taken important parts in an amazing number of remarkable and praised productions. In time, it seems her profile is only growing to an even higher level. With her presence in every project, she joins, she just keeps attracting us to herself. So it is very unbelievable that she doesn’t find herself beautiful.
Ever since she exploded with the scene in Robert Eggers’ horror film The Witch back in 2015, Taylor-Joy kept a fascinating presence with her works. At such a young age, she could feel the audience as if she was seeing directly into their souls. This is not something to be taken for granted. It was obvious that she would be a star and go on to bigger works, which she actually has been doing.
She has proved all of them when she starred in one of the lead roles in Split. After it, Anya Taylor-Joy showed a pure skilled performance which made fans love her even more. Another role of her is Illyana Rasputin a.k.a. Magik in The New Mutants and she was really extraordinary. Though The New Mutants does not look to be warmly received by critics and audiences. But still, you can see how she remunerates her role.
Future Plans of Her
She also has some very exciting projects on the way. Anya Taylor-Joy will star in Furiosa, which is the prequel of the Mad Max: Fury Road. As another, she will appear in Last Night in Soho as one of the lead characters. After all, there are plenty of filmmakers who want to work with her so she should be reminded about her alluring qualities. She wouldn’t have those opportunities to show her skills if she was that ugly I suppose.
Anya Taylor-Joy‘s last role is on The Queen’s Gambit with Beth Harmon which can be seen on Netflix. The show has been a massive hit for Netflix so it makes me wonder if Netflix will push for any awards consideration to Taylor-Joy’s successful performance. So with all of these successes, I don’t think anyone feels as compelled while watching her, despite her quasi-ugliness. We all know she is as beautiful as she is talented.
