In 2012 he received an Academy Awards nomination for “Real in Rio.” In 1969 he was a recipient of Grammy Awards for “The Fool on the Hill” and won a Best World Music Album Grammy Award in 1993 for “Brasileiro.” In 2005, Sergio Mendes received a Lifetime Achievement Award at Latin Grammy Awards. In 2008 he was also a recipient of two Latin Grammy Awards for “Acode,” including Record of the Year nomination and Song of the Year nomination. Those are some of the highlights he has achieved throughout his career. He has a lot more to offer, and I’m sure he will be considered an all-time great.
