Calico Cooper is best known for being the daughter of shock rock star Alice Cooper. Although having a famous father is what put her in the limelight, Calico Cooper is now known in her own right, as she works in several aspects of the entertainment industry, including music, television, and film. While many people know plenty about her rock star father, there are many things that people do not know about Calico. Here are 10 things you might not know about Alice Cooper’s daughter Calico Cooper.

1. Her Mother Was a Ballerina

Calico Cooper was born in Hollywood, California, on May 19, 1981. While her father is the famous rock star Alice Cooper, her mother is also a talented entertainer. Her mother is Sheryl Cooper, nee Goddard, who was a ballerina instructor and choreographer and performed in Alice Cooper’s from 1975 to 1982. With two talented parents with experience in the entertainment industry, it is unsurprising that Calico Cooper followed in their footsteps. Calico is the oldest of three siblings. She has a sister called Sonora Rose and a brother called Dashiell. Calico and her siblings were initially raised in Los Angeles and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

2. She Joined the Entertainment Industry Choreographing for Her Father

Calico Cooper began her career in entertainment when she was just 18. She was hired by her father to choreograph for his Brutal Planet world tour. It was the beginning of a long working relationship between the father-daughter duo, as Calico Cooper went on to accompany her father on eight full stage shows and 11 world tours. Her role expanded from choreography to writing and directing. Although her father’s fame helped Calico get a break in entertainment, her talents mean that she has gone on to enjoy a career away from her family. She stopped working on her father’s tours to pursue her own acting and music dreams.

3. Calico Cooper is in a Band

Although she always said that she did not want to follow in her dad’s footsteps and be in a band, Calico Cooper realized that she loved performing and is now in a band called Beasto Blanco as the lead vocalist. It is a heavy metal/ industrialist band that was formed in 2012. The other members of the band include her father’s bassist Chuck Garric, guitarist Chris Latham, and drummer Tim Husung. The band’s sound engineer is Ryan Greene. They have released three albums, the first of which was ‘Live Fast Die Loud’ in 2013. In 2016, they released ‘Beasto Blanco,’ followed by ‘We Are’ in 2019.

4. She Is Married to Jed Williams

Calico Cooper is married to actor Jed Williams. The couple married in Maui, Hawaii, on October 4, 2015. Calico’s sister, Sonora Rose, was one of her bridesmaids, while her brother, Dashiell, was a groomsman. Williams began his acting career in 2004 and has appeared in television series, short films, and television movies.

5. She Is a Trained Actress

In addition to her music career, Calico Cooper is also a trained actress, and she returned to Los Angeles to undergo training and audition for work. She trained at The Stellas Adler Academy of Acting. She also received training from acting coach Ivana Chubbuck. Her training led her to become a member of two improvisational comedy groups; The Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings. Cooper also appeared in several television series, including ‘Henry Danger,’ ‘The Mindy Project,’ and ‘Hawaii: Five 0.’ Most recently, she played the lead in the comedy series ‘The Normal Ones,’ for which Sonora Rose Cooper is the makeup artist.

6. Calico Cooper Was in a Documentary About the Children of Rock Stars

According to People Pill, Calico Cooper was in an episode of E! True Hollywood Story called ‘Rock Star Daughters’ in 2003. The episode looked at the lives of children of famous rock stars. The show also included Frank Zappa’s daughter Diva, Brian Wilson’s daughter Carnie, Steven Tyler’s daughter Liv, and Bruce Sudano and Donna Summer’s daughter Brooklyn. The series also featured Chaz Bono, whose parents are Cher and Sonny Bono.

7. Her Trademark Is Horror Movies

Cooper has appeared in multiple movies of various genres, but she is best known for appearing in horror movies, and this has become her trademark. She made her film debut with a minor role in the 2005 horror movie ‘The Curse of El Chorro.’ Her three 2007 films were the comedy-horror film ‘Puppy,’ the horror film ‘Junkfood Horrorfest,’ and the drama ‘Rolling.’ Cooper’s first lead role was in the 2010 psychological horror film ‘Thirty Proof Coil.’ In 2013, Cooper had roles in the horror films ‘Family Time’ and ‘13/13/13’.

8. Calico Cooper is a Director

Calico Cooper is also an experienced director. She has directed music videos for her father and for her own band, along with music videos for the singles of other artists. She also directs television commercials. Cooper has also worked as a producer on the 2015 crime-comedy film ‘Love of Mass Destruction,’ in which she also played the lead female role.

9. She Makes Her Own Costumes

Calico Cooper’s talents extend beyond singing and acting. For her performances with her band, she makes all her own costumes. She tries to create on-stage characters through a combination of the costumes she creates and makeup. Furthermore, Cooper performs all her own stunts and creates special effects for her music videos.

10. She Loves Cooking

One of the things that Calico Cooper loves to do in her free time is to cook, she told French Fries magazine. Whenever she is feeling stressed out or anxious, the first thing she wants to do to calm herself is to cook. She prefers making complicated recipes, as it means she has to concentrate and prevents her mind from wandering.
