Inside The Tragic Death of Rapper Lil Loaded

Over the years, rap music has seen several of its rising stars have their light extinguished too soon. Sadly, another young rapper has been added to the list. Dashawn Robertson, better known as Lil Loaded, passed away on May 31, 2021, as just 20-years-old. The rapper’s sudden death came as a surprise to his growing fan base and the news has sent waves of sadness throughout the rap community. Although Lil Loaded didn’t have the easiest journey, it appears that he was making some great strides and there were a lot of people who were excited to see where he was career was headed. Although Lil Loaded will never get to build the legacy he was hoping for, his name will continue to live on through the music he released. Lil Loaded’s Life

Lil Loaded was born in California, but he spent most of his life living in Texas. Not much is known about his upbringing or his personal life. We weren’t able to find any information on what inspired Lil Loaded to get into rapping, but we do know that he wasn’t doing it for long before he released his first single. During an interview with Complex, he cited Michael Jackson as one of his biggest influences. He also added that he loved listening to a wide variety of music.

Even before he started making music, he had become known by the name Lil Loaded. He told Complex, “People called me Lil Loaded for the longest. I mean sh*t, I used to go to the basketball court with a pistol in my backpack. They always called me Lil Loaded. I used to go to football practice loaded, on God. They was like, “That ni**a look high.” And James was like, “Nah, man, that’s Lil Loaded.” On God, that shit was funny. That sh*t killed me, on God. That’s what everybody called me.” Unfortunately, his reputation for carrying guns eventually got him in trouble.

In the fall of 2020, Lil Loaded was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing one of his friends during a music video shoot. In February of 2021, he was indicted on a manslaughter charge.

Lil Loaded’s Career

Lil Loaded wasn’t a household name just yet, but he was working on getting there. He first started to gain attention in 2018 when he released the single “B.O.S”. The song was inspired by YNW Melly’s “Butter Peacan” which was also released in 2018. Things really started to take off for Lil Loaded in 2019, when his song “6locc 6a6y” was played in a reaction video uploaded by popular YouTuber, Tommy Craze. The song eventually went on to become certified gold. In 2020, he released his debut album, A Demon in 6lue. The project reached number on the US Heat chart. It’s unclear if he was working on any new music at the time of his death that will be released posthumously.

Lil Loaded’s Death

On May 31, 2021, Lil Loaded posted a cryptic Instagram story that stated:

Dear most high, please forgive me for my shortcomings and all of the times I’ve fell short of making you proud and being appreciative of the blessings that have been put in my life. Sometimes the lines are blurred between being solid and being heartless.” He continued, “I want to thank you for how far I’ve come and the people you’ve put in my life to keep me grounded and humble through everything, and I love every single one of those people that are genuinely for me. I ask for entrance into your kingdom thru all of my mistakes. I know you love all your children, and I’m ready for my heart and soul to join you.”

Lil Loaded’s Friends Confirm Suicide

The post raised a lot of questions, and the questions just continued once news began to circulate that he passed away. The cause of death was eventually determined to be a gunshot wound. Some of the late rapper’s friends quickly took to social media to explain that Lil Loaded had died by suicide. According to some people close to him, the suicide was the result of a situation surrounding his girlfriend. Lil Loaded’s friend, Cyraq, posted, “My ni**a just killed himself cause his b**ch. I hate this hoe so much right now.” He added, “That nihh told me inna studio last month somebody f**k his girl, he a kill em. This nihh ended this shit behind his girl. He meant that sh*t. Brudda I love you bih.” After speaking to Lil Loaded’s mother, Cyraq returned to social media to say, “I promise it wasn’t worth it. Brudda u fucked da world up wit dis one. Bro you ain’t have to leave us like this. I coulda figured sum out brudda. Come on bih, its messed up my nihh can’t even talk to me no more.”

No additional information about Lil Loaded’s girlfriend has been released. It also doesn’t appear that his family members have made any public statements.
