Nickelodeon Announces New Studio to Continue the Avatar Legend

Nickelodeon announced the future of productions that will expand the Avatar universe. The show will continue with the newly established “Avatar Studios”.

Although Avatar: The Last Airbender had a large fan base around the world, there was not a satisfactory amount of content for their fans about the world of elements. Nickelodeon pleased the fans of the popular brand by announcing today that it has established a new studio called “Avatar Studios”.

According to the statement, Avatar Studios’ main task will be to expand the world of Avatar and The Legend of Korra. This means that fans will encounter more and more Avatar movies and TV shows in the future. Moreover, according to the shared poster, the studio’s first project will be an original animated movie.

Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the names behind the original Avatar: The Last Airbender, will be Avatar Studios’ chief creators. New productions are likely to be something that those who love original Avatar productions.

Brian Robbins, president of ViacomCBS Kids & Family: “Avatar Studios will make it possible to dive deeper into the characters and mythological story in the Avatar universe.”

What’s the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” franchise?

For this upcoming movie, details have not been revealed but that won’t stop production from moving forward. Avatar: The Last Airbender movie begins production later this year.

Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise launched on Nickelodeon in 2005. For those who do not know; The original Avatar: The Last Airbender was an animated series that ran for 3 seasons, from 2005 to 2008. The drama was so popular at the time that it won many awards. The drama centered on the adventures of Aang and his friends who aimed to save the world by defeating the warrior Fire Nation.

Avatar: The Last Airbender was transformed into a comic book series after the popular animated series. In fact, the series was so popular that it was at the top of the New York Times best-selling comic book list for 70 weeks. There are still plenty of unknown details about the new Avatar movie.
