Pearl Jam to release rare MTV Unplugged performance on vinyl

Pearl Jam to release their rare 1992 MTV Unplugged performance on vinyl for the first time.

They’ve recorded their new completion in the days following the band’s upcoming European tour. The performance saw the band perform six songs from their debut record, Ten: ‘Oceans’, ‘State of Love and Trust’, ‘Alive’, ‘Black’, ‘Jeremy’, ‘Even Flow’, and ‘Porch.’ Also, the band bassist Jeff Ament talks about this: “We literally got off the plane from Europe, spent all day in a cavernous sound studio in New York, and did the show that night. It’s pretty powerful, and Ed’s singing great. Yet it’s kind of naive, which is awesome.”

Nirvana’s rare MTV Unplugged performance is also set to receive a vinyl reissue for the 25th anniversary. The new pressing will feature five rehearsal performances of tracks: ‘Come As You Are’, ‘Polly’, ‘Plateau’, ‘Pennyroyal Tea’, and ‘The Man Who Sold the World’. The vinyl release of the performance will be part of Record Store Day‘s Black Friday event, on November 29th.
