News from director Zack Snyder doesn’t come to an end which shows more how much he wants to keep us up and draws us attention. We all know that he has been working on Justice League and teasing fans with new exciting features from the movie. And today, he has just confirmed that he started developing a retelling of the King Arthur legend, Faithful.
King Arthur is among the most famous characters in medieval and romantic history literature from the fifth and sixth centuries. The legend of him has been inspiring many thoughts and works to handle from novels to games, operas films, and much more for centuries. And now, Zack Snyder has also joined among those artists.
Snyder confirmed in his latest interview with Minutemen that he’s currently developing Faithful, which reimagines the legend of King Arthur.
“I’m working on something but we’ll see. I’ve been thinking about some kind of retelling, like, real sort of faithful retelling of that Arthurian mythological concept. We’ll see. Maybe that will come at some point.”
And after, famous director Zack Snyder also mentioned that he also inspired by Arthurian mythology while developing Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. It is one of his most known movies that follows a young Bruce Wayne when his parents are murdered just after leaving the theater show of John Boorman’s 1981 Excalibur.
Zack Snyder’s first upcoming project is R-rated, which lasts four hour cut of Justice League. It will air on HBO Max on the 18th of March. There is also a new teaser featuring Granny Goodness with Darkseid that he revealed just a few days ago. On the other hand, also the first footage of Jared Leto replaying his Joker role from Suicide Squad has been shared as a sequence based on Batman vs. Superman Knightmare scene.
Snyder has been working really hard this year that’s for sure. He is also going to release Army of the Dead which is an original zombie action movie. Snyder had parts as a co-writer and director on this project for Netflix. The movie stars Dave Bautista as a group of mercenaries leader, who try looting an abandoned Las Vegas casino while the city being overrun by zombies.
If we were to go back to the subject, there are really many film adaptations of King Arthur, which is Antoine Fuqua’s King Arthur, starring Clive Owen as Arthur and Keira Knightley as Guinevere back in 2004. Warner Bros also tried to start a franchise with Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Warner’s adaption of King Arthur includes Charlie Hunnam as a young Arthur beside Jude Law as his two-faced uncle Vortigern.
