Yungeen Ace may not be known to the mainstream, but the up-and-coming rapper is hoping that won’t be the case for much longer. The road hasn’t been easy so far, but Yungeen Ace isn’t going to let anything stand in his way. For the last few years, he has been working hard to build a solid foundation for his career, and he’s already seen his fanbase grow tremendously. His music is surprisingly vulnerable, and he has taken some of the darkest moments in his life and turned them into art. 1. He’s Originally From Chicago

Jacksonville, Florida is the place that’s most commonly associated with Yungeen. What most people don’t realize, however, is that he was actually born in Chicago. He relocated to Florida with his family when he was about five years old. He currently lives in Houston.

2. He Was Shot Several Times

In 2018, Yungeen Ace had a very close brush with death when he was shot eight times in Jacksonville. The shooting resulted in the death of his brother and two of their friends. During an interview with Elevator Mag, he said, “That incident changed my whole life. The doctors and the nurses told me I wasn’t going to live. Because I’m so small they didn’t think I was going to make it. It changed my whole life though. I look at everything differently now. That was my first time getting shot and I got shot eight times. It really was ten actually, I got grazed twice on my back.”

3. He’s Friends With Vanessa Carlton

Yungeen Ace may seem like an unlikely friend pair, but you know what they say about opposites. The two first got in contact when Yungeen reached out to Vanessa to ask if he could sample one of her songs on one of his. The two hit it off and have been in touch ever since.

4. He Loves Poetry

Some of Yungeen Ace’s fans have compared his music to poetry, and that’s no coincidence. He has been a fan of poetry since he was younger. Even though he admits he wasn’t the best student, he used to enjoy writing poetry in school. That said, Yungeen admits that he doesn’t have a favorite poet.

5. He Wants To Do More Than Rap

At this stage in his career, Yungeen Ace is only known for being a rapper. However, he hopes to be seen as much more than that someday. He told Passion Weiss, “I don’t want to just be a rapper, I want to have my feet in everything. Everybody has different goals, but I want to be in movies, I want to be in shows, I want to be a businessman.”

6. Music Is His Way Of Coping With Tragedy

Yungeen Ace has been through a lot in his life, and many of the things he’s encountered would be enough to make most people give up. He, however, turned to music to help him get through the tough times. In addition to losing his brother to gun violence, Yungeen also lost his uncle who was like a father to him. When he writes his music, he reflects on these things and puts his feelings in song.

7. He’s Always Wanted To Be A Star

There are plenty of people in the entertainment industry who never had an interest in getting famous, but not Yungeen Ace. He told Elevator Mag, “Being a star always has been my dream though. Anything I put my mind to I really go for and give it my all, so I’ve just been working 100% every day until I’m a star, nothing less.”

8. He Has A Big Instagram Following

Although he hasn’t achieved a lot of commercial success just yet, Yungeen Ace has already made a name for himself on the internet. He currently has more than two million followers on Instagram and the numbers just keep growing. He also has nearly 840,000 followers on TikTok.

9. He’s Had Trouble With The Law

Before he was known as Yungeen Ace to the world, he was known by his government name, Kenyata Tyrone Bullard, to local law enforcement in Jacksonville. After recovering in the hospital from being shot, Yungeen Ace was arrested and sent to jail on a probation violation.

10. Family Is Important To Him

Yungeen Ace’s family life hasn’t always been smooth, but family is one of the things that matters the most to him. He has always held his brothers close to his heart and even though some of them are no longer here, he continues to do everything he can to make them proud.
