10 Things You Didn’t Know about Will Ramos

Will Ramos

Have you ever heard the name Will Ramos? Perhaps you are now aware that he is a new vocalist for Lorna Shore, a death metal group but has had more than its fair share of controversy itself. As far as Ramos is concerned, there are a lot of things that you probably don’t know about him, and 10 of them are listed below.

1. He joined the band on a trial basis

One of the controversies surrounding Lorna Shore is the fact that right in the middle of a tour, their lead vocalist, CJ McCreery, left. That left the group scrambling to find somebody to take his place since they were in Berlin touring at the time. Enter will Ramos, the person who stepped in to do a few live performances in the wake of McCreery’s absence. That’s definitely not the easiest thing to do, but he didn’t really seem to have that much trouble with it. In fact, most of the people closest to him said that he seemed to relish the opportunity.

2. He was really thrown onto the fire, so to speak

There is no doubt that Ramos was very much thrown into the fire when he was asked to step in as the lead vocalist. It doesn’t matter what group you’re talking about, replacing a lead vocalist in any capacity isn’t exactly an easy task. Typically, as far as fans of the group are concerned, there are always big shoes to fill. The fan base expects a certain level of performance and a change in any member of the group can be a problem, but nothing creates an issue as quickly as switching lead vocalists. That’s enough to make almost anybody nervous beyond words, but the people around Ramos quickly learned that it didn’t really bother him. In fact, he didn’t seem to be bothered by the situation at all.

3. He performs well under pressure

This is where people learned that he performed very well under pressure. In fact, he has a tendency to do better when he’s under pressure than he does when everything is rolling along smoothly. If he knows that the chips are down and he has to perform well or everything is going to fall apart, that’s when he’s at his best. As far as he’s concerned, it’s sort of like putting all the ingredients into a pressure cooker and then letting it do its job. Everything comes out exactly the way it’s supposed to. Without that pressure, it simply wouldn’t work. For him, it’s much the same thing.

4. He doesn’t really mind what others say

Another thing that probably helps him stay calm in these types of situations is that he has never really cared what other people say. In fact, he doesn’t really care what people think about him at all. He admits that he’s always had a tendency to do things his own way and if people don’t like it, then they can go their own way. It doesn’t really matter to him one way or the other.

5. He’s not always motivated

He admits that he’s not always the most motivated person in the room. For him, it all goes back to the idea of performing well under pressure. When everything is clipping along at a fairly calm pace, he has a tendency to be less than motivated to get engaged. He says that he’s always been a bit of a procrastinator. For him, he doesn’t really find that creative motivation until he knows that he absolutely has to because it’s the 11th hour and he no longer has a choice. Otherwise, he sort of has a tendency to just go with the flow, even to the point of lacking the motivation to do much of anything with his music until he absolutely has to.

6. He likes controversy

There’s little doubt that he likes a certain amount of controversy. In fact, it’s something that he’s become quite used to. It only makes sense when you stop and think about it. This type of music has a tendency to create a lot of controversy in and of itself. As a result, he’s probably become accustomed to the reactions of people throughout the time that he’s been playing. For him, he says that a bit of controversy is good because that means people are talking about you and that ultimately gives you more attention. Therefore, he says that if people want to talk about him, either good or bad, let them.

7. He knows it’s all just a show

At the end of the day, he says that he’s well aware that it’s all just one big show. He admits that the band sometimes creates controversy during their performances in order to make the show more interesting for audiences. There is a certain demeanor that has come to be expected with death metal bands, and Lorna Shore plays into it perfectly.

8. He takes it all in stride

This sort of goes back to him not being motivated to do things until the chips are down. He says that he has a tendency to take everything in stride and realize that things come and go. He knows his music career won’t last forever, nor will this gig with the band. He sort of just takes it all in stride as it comes and enjoys it when he can. For him, it’s not so important that he feels like his life will be over if the band should break up or he never releases another album.

9. He does interact with his fans

Despite the fact that he doesn’t really allow himself to get carried away by any of this, he does interact with his fans on a regular basis, both through social media and at concerts. He knows that it’s important to interact with fans and he says that he enjoys doing so because it gives him an opportunity to meet a lot of different people.

10. He even has his own YouTube channel

As another way of interacting with fans, he even has his own YouTube channel where he will frequently post both the band’s music and other things. He says that it’s one more way that he can interact and connect with people, especially those that he doesn’t always have the time to connect with in person.
