5 Seconds of Summer is an Australian rock band from Sydney. The group consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. In early 2013, the boys were signed with Capitol Records. They released their first EP in April that year, and it debuted at No. 2 on iTunes Chart in USA and Australia. Their official debut single “She Looks So Perfect” hit worldwide, reaching number one in Australia and New Zealand, top ten on Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, and reached the top spot in UK Singles Chart plus seventeen more countries, including Canada, Ireland, etc. In May 2014, they announced their first World Tour reaching North America, Europe & Oceania, featuring over 70 concerts until November. The tour started at Byron Bay’s Beach Haus, which sold out four shows. The group performed on Good Morning America’s summer concert series, plus performed for IHeartRadio. They were the opening act for 5 Seconds of Summer tour 2014 on Selena Gomez’s Stars Dance Tour in select cities, including Florida, Chicago, Anaheim, and San Diego. In 2015 they announced a second World Tour extending over Europe and Asia/Pacific regions which sold out most of its shows. The band was nominated at MTV Video Music Awards in six categories: “Best New Artist,” “Song of The Year,” “Best Direction,” “Best Art Direction,” “Best Cinematography,” & “Video Of The Year.” 5SOS has been named as one of Fuse TV’s 30 must-see artists at Lollapalooza 2014 Bank of America Pavilion performance.
