MEGADETH Bassist David Ellefson: “New MEGADETH Album Will Release in 2021”
David Ellefson revealed when they will release the new MEGADETH album. This upcoming album follow-up to their 2016’s “Dystopia” album.
One month ago, Dave Mustaine and MEGADETH members also working on new music. They focus on the upcoming new album. For that, Dave said that “We’ve got one record left that we owe the record label. And let’s just go in there and write.’ So we wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote. And then I got the all-clear from the doctors, and today, I’m actually going over to start getting vocals down, because I’m getting ready to start singing.”
During an interview with the Decibel Geek podcast, MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson talked about the new album release date:
“Basic tracks are done. Overdubs now are continuing. I’m sure 2021 will see some new MEGADETH music of some form. That hopefully, the whole album, because touring will open up and we can drop a record and the tour dates that we have rescheduled will all go forward as planned.
David Ellefson also added:
That’s what we’re hoping. That’s about all I can say on it — just ’cause it’s not done yet, so it’s hard to talk about something that’s still in motion.”
In addition to that, for their forthcoming sixteen studio album, Dave Mustaine revealed:
“I thought, ‘Okay, we’re gonna blast through this.’ And then, the boom here comes the pandemic, and everything drops down a couple of gears. But you know what? We are still working every day, and the record’s getting done.
It’s funny ’cause every person that I know — well, not every person, but the people that I know that know I’m writing a new record, and God bless ’em — they all go, ‘So, are you gonna write about the coronavirus?’ And I’m thinking, ‘Well, now there’s a thought…'”
David Ellefson and Drew Fortier also revealed the fiction thriller novel ‘Rock Star Hitman,’ already out on October 13th, 2020. Watch the entire interview below!
