Over the last decade or so, British hip-hop has become increasingly popular, and Nines has played a signifigant role in that. The talented rapper has been in the industry since 2011. Since then, he has put outseveral solid projects and he has esrned the respect of rap fans from all over the world. Nines’ ability to tell stories with his lyrics allows him to have a relatable quality that isn’t always easy to find. Unfortunately, however, his time in the spotlight hasn’t always been great. He’s also had some trouble with the law that has threatened to derail him personally and professionally. 1. He Has Jamaican Roots
Nines was born and raised in London, but his parents are originally from Jamaica. He is very proud of both of the cultures that have come together to make him the person he is today. Nines still lives in London and as far as we know he doesn’t have any plans to relocate.
2. He Didn’t Always Plan On Rapping
Becoming a rapper isn’t something that was always at the forefront of Nines’ mind. During an interview with Crack Magazine, Nines said, “I never planned to do music. I went to college for a couple of weeks but that wasn’t really for me. Then my mum was onto me to do something positive with my life, so I told her I’d become a rapper.”
3. He Plans To Retire In 2022
Being a musician is a career that lots of people never retire from. In fact, it’s pretty common to see artists continue to make music and perform until they physically can’t anymore. That isn’t Nines’ plan, however. He has already announced that he plans to release his final album in 2022.
4. He’s Passionate About His Community
There are lots of people who tend to forget where they came from once they start to get a little success, but that has never been Nines’ style. He loves his community and he continues to be an active member even though he’s achieved celebrity status. His goal has always been to use his platform as a tool to better his community.

Rapping is the thing that put Nines on the map, and it’s what most people know him for. However, what many people don’t realize is that it’s not his only creative skill. Things in Nines’ life haven’t always been easy. In the spring of 2008, he suffered a very tragic loss when his brother, Wayne, was shot and killed. Sources have since reported that Wayne’s murder may have been the result of gang violence as he was suspected to be part of a local gang. Losing a loved one is never easy, but it can be even more difficult when their death is sudden and violent.
