10 Things You Didn’t Know about BigWalkDog
Building a solid career in the music industry can be a time-consuming process, but BigWalkDog is ready to do what it takes. He has been working hard for the last several years and he’s finally started to gain some traction. He hasn’t achieved a lot of mainstream success just yet, but his fan base seems to be growing by the day. His powerful voice and witty bars have earned him a lot of respect and he’s already gotten the chance to hop on tracks with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. As his star continues to shine, the possibilities are looking endless and people are excited for the release of his first full-length project. Here are 10 things you didn’t know about BigWalkDog.
1. He’s From Mississippi
Although some sources report him as being from Tennessee, BigWalkDog was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi called Tutwiler. According to City-Data, the town’s population is under 3,500 people. BigWalkDog attended West Tallahatchie High School.
2. He’s Signed To Gucci Mane
The last year or so has been huge for BigWalkDog’s career and he’s excited to see what the future holds. He is officially signed to Gucci Mane’s record label, 1017 Records, and it seems to be the perfect fit for him. On top of BigWalkDog, the label is also home to Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano. When he signed to the label, his hometown held a big parade in his honor.
3. He’s A Very Private Person
Once some people get a taste of the spotlight, they can’t get enough of it. Although BigWalkDog is enjoying his newfound fame, it’s clear that he isn’t the type of rapper who wants to spend every second in front of the public. So far, he has done a good job of keeping his personal life on the low.
4. He Loves Jewelry
Everybody has at least one thing they love spending money on. For BigWalkDog, jewelry is that thing. Although he doesn’t post on his Instagram account often when he does you can see him happily flashing his expensive watches and chains. He also has a very icy set of grills.
5. His Stage Name Is Actually Inspired By His Real Name
There are lots of celebrities who have stage names that have absolutely nothing to do with their government names. That isn’t the case for BigWalkDog, though. His real name is Da’Jour Walker and it seems very likely that BigWalkDog is a play on his last name.
6. He’s A Family Oriented Person
Even though there isn’t a lot of information out there on BigWalkDog’s personal life, we did learn that his family is very important to him. According to an article from Press Register, BigWalkDog had a very close relationship with his grandmother who passed away last year. When discussing his relationship with his grandmother, BigWalkDog’s mother said, “He wishes she was here to see him and how his dream came true,” she said. “I know she is looking down smiling and saying, ‘Look at Da’Jour. You go, boy.’”
7. He May have A Girlfriend
BigWalkDog has kept a lot of information about his personal life away from the spotlight, but according to a Facebook profile that appears to belong to him, he is in a relationship with a woman named Ke’Aundria Smith. However, neither of them have posted about each other on Instagram.
8. He Started A YouTube Channel
YouTube has become one of the most popular video-sharing platforms on the internet and a lot of artists use it to share their music videos and other content. In June of 2021, BigWalkDog created a YouTube channel where he uploaded two of his songs. He only has 415 subscribers at the moment, but there’s no doubt that number will increase as his popularity grows.
9. His Mom Is His Biggest Fan
There are lots of parents who would be a little upset over the idea of their kid wanting to become a rapper. After all, a career in the music industry is nearly impossible to pursue. However, BigWalkDog’s mom never felt that way about her baby boy. She told Press Register that she is “overwhelmed with joy and happiness” about his success and she’s proud of everything he’s accomplished so far.
10. He Freestyles And Writes
When it comes to rapping, freestyle and writing are two completely different skills. There are lots of rappers who can do one or the other, but not many who can legitimately do both. BigWalkDog is proud to be one of the few. He likes to combine both techniques in his music based on what he feels when he hears the beat.
